Product Discovery Engineer

■About the Team
LabBase’s mission is “Transforming the power of research into the power of humanity.”
The Product Discovery Team explores new opportunities and builds tools that speed up research and make it more accessible.
Because research evolves slowly, the team focuses on creating innovative and intuitive products that can meaningfully accelerate progress.
Design is central to the team’s work ― products must be powerful but still easy to learn and use.
As an early team member, you will help shape the design culture and deeply influence the product direction.

■About This Role
You will work in a small, cross?functional team alongside designers and product managers to create new research experiences.
You’ll take ownership of architecting and designing complex distributed systems that define the future of research tools.
The role is based in Tokyo with a hybrid work policy; living within commuting distance is required.

■What You’ll Do
Design and build systems at both the service and platform level
Develop scalable, high?quality software
Quickly prototype and validate ideas based on hypotheses
Join the team’s on?call rotation to ensure stable operations
Promote best practices in testing, observability, architecture, clean code, and documentation
Build features powered by LLMs (Large Language Models)

＜経験・スキル＞

【必須要件】
- Ability to lead the architecture design and implementation of the entire service.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Strong knowledge of fundamental computer science concepts.
- Experience developing and operating large-scale web applications with a focus on UX.
- Capability to build high-quality software, with proficiency in supporting web applications and libraries.
- Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation when required by the team.
